He was predeceased by: his wife Sara Lavender Stamps; his parents, Tollie Stamps and Annie Laura Stamps; his brother Charles Stamps; and his son-in-law Sammie Massey.

He is survived by: his daughters, Sandra Stamps Poole (David) and Barbara Stamps Massey; his grandchildren, Calvin Laing Poole and Curtis Brent Poole (Amanda); his great grandchildren, Brandon Leonard, Jacob Leonard and Chloe Poole; and his nephews, Glenn Stamps, Monty Stamps, Lance Stamps, Keith Stamps, Phillip Mitchum and Scott Mitchum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International, Grant's Creek Baptist Church or the Fosters/Ralph Volunteer Fire Department.
