He was predeceased by: his wife Marie Ann Green; his parents, Andrew Tolbert and Bessie Kilgore Tolbert; his daughter Amy Tolbert Barton Rogers; and his siblings, Johnny Tolbert, Ralph Tolbert, Lloyd Posten, Harlen "Frosty" Tolbert, Beadie Kovalenko, Odell Stachura, Jewel Johnson and Mary Kingsley.
He is survived by: his children, Melissa Waid (Forrest) and Phillip Tolbert (Ada Moore); his stepchildren, Clay Gibbs (Beth), Christy Wilson (Gary) and Corey Gibbs (Caroline); his brother Ronald Tolbert (Linda); his siblings-in-law, Harold Clayton (Rachel), Betty Jean Tolbert, Rosie Posten and Violet Clayton; and the mothers of children, Carolyn Pearce and Faye Swindle. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
