He was predeceased by: his parents, Cullman Clarence Downey and Eva Culbreath Downey; his former wife Joan Edwards Downey; and his sister Sandy Levy. He is survived by: his wife Frankie Sue Copeland; his sister Faye Griffin; and his nieces and nephews, Terry Griffin, Joseph Levy, Ilana Ben-Moshe and Shoshanah Levy-Bonzi.
A funeral service was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Crestwood Funeral Home (2209 E Broad St, Gadsden, AL 35903).
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to College Heights Baptist Church.
