He was predeceased by: his parents, John McCullars and Martha Austin; and his grandparents, Milton Medlin, Maggie Medlin, John McCullars Sr. and Louise McCullars.

He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Scott McCullars (Paige) and Kelli Williams; and his grandchildren, Sydney, Morgan McCullars, Cole and Caitlin Williams. He is also survived by cousins and friends.
