He was predeceased by: his parents, W. J. Long and Ella Long; his brothers, J. D. Long and Carl Long; and his son Barry Long.
He is survived by: his wife Edwina Long; his daughter Patty Long Beal (George); his grandchildren, Rodney (Theresa), Lori and Kim; his great grandchild Hayden Fry; his brother-in-law Pete Dionis; and also, Linda Beal and Cindy Campbell (Jon). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 7 great great-grandchildren.
