He was predeceased by: his parents, Kemper Ray and Emma Louise; his brother Richard Kemper; and his great grandchild Piper Rose Glenn. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann; his daughter Tracey Clay; his granddaughters, Ashley Griffin (Stephen), Danielle Glenn (Nate) and Leah Mink; his great grandchildren, Abbey, Olivia, Jude, Ezra Griffin and Remembering Grandad; and his friend Brown Ave.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in memory of Bill Clay be made to Joe Lee Griffin (1104 Ireland Way, Birmingham, AL 35205-7001) to help families going through the cancer treatment process.
