He was predeceased by: his wife Marie Lankford; his son Gregory Scott Lankford; and his parents, Maedell Lankford and Eldred Lankford. He is survived by: his daughters, Tina Herring (Lee) of Huntsville and Heather Staton (Tim) of Rainbow City; his grandchildren, Hallie Herring, McKenzie and Ava Staton; his brother Ladale Lankford (Charlotte) of Southside; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Anne Gargus of Huntsville, Joy Morrow of Alexandria and Ken Elkins of Atlanta. He is also survived by His extended family includes many precious nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
