She was predeceased by: her husband William "Billy" McEwen; her brothers, James Hawkins, Ray Hawkins and George Hawkins; and her parents, Hughel Hawkins and Maudie Hawkins.

She is survived by: her daughter Cathy J. McEwen; and her grandson Jon McEwen (Danielle). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her name to Amedisys Hospice.
