He is survived by: his children, Jo Anne Alverson (Jeff) and James "Bunky" Layton (Vicki); his granddaughter Chelsey Alverson; his stepgrandchildren, Lonnie "BoBo" Gardner (Marybeth), Chris Gardner (Carrie) and Matt Gardner (Tesla); and his sibling Madlyn Pollard.
