He was predeceased by: his father Ersie Dean Franklin; and his brothers, Timothy Franklin and Roger Franklin. He is survived by: his wife Nita Franklin; his sons, Anthony Franklin (Becca) and Andrew Franklin (Anna); his grandchildren, Hayley, Lilly, Gracie, Abby, Tristan and Brantley Franklin; his siblings, Dennis Franklin (Rita) and Darlene Franklin; his mother Betty Jean Franklin; and his parents-in-law, Louise Trammell and James "Cat" Trammell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
