He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Truett and Costella Chapman Sr. Truett; and his brother Nathan Chapman Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Martha Chapman; his children, Marshea Chapman and Truett Chapman Jr. (Jennifer); his siblings, Brenda Chapman, Naweta Mary Chapman, Lolethia Chapman (Shirley), John Chapman (Stacey) and Alvin Chapman; and his grandchildren, Koron Talieaferro and Trey Chapman.
