He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Carter Garrett and Evie Lois Sparks Garrett; his wife Patsy "Pat" Clemment Garrett; his son Michael W. Garrett; and his sister Peggy Jean Laird.

He is survived by: his son Jame; his brother Billy Joe Garrett; and his grandchildren, Rachel, Thomas, Tasha, David and Jennifer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in his memory.
