He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Lee and Elma Wishum Pope; and his wife Sue Cook. He is survived by: his daughters, Mandy Pope Smith (Mike) and Liza Pope Peterson (Drew); and his grandchildren, Jacob Lee Peterson (Taylor), Caroline Smith Dean (Jackson), Preston Andrew Peterson and Spencer Conaway Smith.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Methodist Church in Prattville.
