She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Joseph Esser and Doris Helen Jones Esser; and her brother Michael Esser. She is survived by: her husband John Shumway; her sons, Jason Cassidy (Ashley) and Clint Shumway; and her siblings, Julia Adams (Robin), John Esser (Val) and Richard Esser. She is also survived by five grandchildren, one great grandchild and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 511 North Memorial Drive, Prattville, AL 36066 in her memory.
