He was predeceased by: his mother H. G. Braswell; and his son Andrew Wells Braswell. He is survived by: his wife Kay Honeycutt Braswell; his children, Garland Braswell, Jr., John Embrey Braswell (Tabitha) and Kay Honeycutt Braswell Ernest (Cameron); his daughter-in-law Ann Brown Braswell; his grandchildren, Andrew Wells Braswell (Sammy), John McPherson Braswell (Lizzie), Emily Braswell Ernest, Martha Cameron Ernest, Garland Wells Braswell, Cassidy Braswell and Katelyn Braswell Warren; his sister Cyndi Braswell Denham (Michael); and his nephew Christopher Brian Denham (Carol). He is also survived by great grandchildren.
