He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father James Nicholas Kirkwood; his wife Doris Jean Kirkwood; his brothers, James Clyde Kirkwood and Charles Houston Kirkwood; his children, Carolyn Green (Jim), Lisa Miller and Walter Kirkwood Jr. (Shawnette); his sister Anita Kirkwood; his sisters-in-law, Diane McCay (Billy) and Linda Barber; and his grandchildren, Jim Green Jr., David Green, Erika Ward Gilchrist, Keila Kirkwood Perry, Kayla Kirkwood, Sarah Miller and Jade Kirkwood. He was also cherished by six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would be honored to have memorial donations sent to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church at 452 9th Ave, Pleasant Grove, AL 35127.
