He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis, Sr. Tate and Annie Tate; his siblings, Louis Tate, Jr., Mary Virginia Perryman and Frances Ann Willcutt; and his son-in-law Terry Irvin (Dago).
He is survived by: his wife Carol Adcock Tate; his daughter Allison T. Irvin; his grandchildren, Ashley I. Foster (JD) and Jacob R. Presley; his great grandchildren, Sawyer G. Foster, Landon D. Foster and Renleigh F. Presley; and his pet Charlie. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Stephen's name to the St. Aloysius Parish Hall Fund (751 Academy Drive, Bessemer, AL 35022-5276, 205-424-2984).
