He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewe Frank Dykes and Bama Lee Bowdoin Dykes; his granddaughter Erica Calloway; his great grandchild Everett Heggins; and his brother Joseph Dykes.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Marshall Dykes; and his daughters, Theresa Aderhold (Curtis), Kathy Stram (Larry), Wanda Majava (Thomas), Donna Calloway (Walter) and Dianne Benda (Derek). He is also survived by his sister, (Martha Kelley), seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
