He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Armstrong and Ethel Armstrong; and his brother Fred Armstrong. He is survived by: his wife Earline "Polly" Armstrong; his children, Steve Armstrong (Sue), Debra Roberts (Verner), Robbie Patterson (Mark) and Rita Otwell (Jack); his grandchildren, Rodney Armstrong (Lauren), Brittney Wheat (Justin), Paige Patterson, Cameron Otwell (Jenn), Chase Patterson (Tiffany), Chazz Otwell (Macie) and Scott Roberts (Kim); his great grandchildren, Anden, Avery, Amelia, Henry, Samuel, Jaxson, Ozzie, Lauryn (Hunter), Brannen (Maggie), Mason, Hudson, Jed and Eli; and his sister Mary Sue Shadinger.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church Pleasant Grove.
