He was predeceased by: his parents, John Capps and Mary Capps; his wife Virginia; his daughter Joni; and his siblings, Jennie, George, Johnny, Pearl, Bill, Ivan and Ira.
He is survived by: his brother Painting; and his children, Mary Hardin, Charles Capps, Jr., John Capps and Robbi Liddell (Stuart). He is also survived by sons, nephews, friends.
