He was predeceased by: his parents, Dock B. Slaughter, Sr. and Lela Richards Slaughter; his wife Gloria Tillman Slaughter; his son Michael Scott Slaughter; and his sister Blanche Sholar Barnwell.
He is survived by: his granddaughters, Paige Bonner (Eric) of Knoxville, TN, Shannon Edwards (Rob) of Knoxville, TN and Emily Sanchez of Texas; his daughter-in-law Rita Slaughter; and his nieces and nephews, Sandy Mullin (Larry), Joe Knowles (Polly), Pat Roper (Rick), Sam Tillman (Shari), Greg Glass and Matt Moss (Alisa). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
