He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Foshee Smart; his parents, Houston Smart and Mable Smart; his brother James Winston Smart; and his granddaughter Emme Lybrand.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sherry Cates and Denise Lybrand (Brian); his grandchildren, Andrew Roberts (Kourtnie), Kelly Rhodes (Heath), Sydney Lybrand, Claire Gray (Chad), Hudson Lybrand and Cooper Lybrand; and his great grandchildren, Morgan Roberts, Alyvia Roberts, Blakely Roberts and Eevee Rhodes.
