He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Frances Waldrop; his parents, Norman Waldrop and Syble Waldrop; and his brothers, Teddy Hugh Waldrop and Roger Dell Waldrop.
He is survived by: his children, James Franklin Waldrop, Buster Waldrop (Kim), Bo Waldrop (Leigh), Carol Stewart (Danny) and Michelle Compton (Jason); and his sisters, Norma Jean Smalley (Waylon), Maude Ellon Ellis (Wayne), Marcille Dutton (Wendell) and Kathleen Godwin (Barry). He is also survived by 16 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren.
