He was predeceased by: his parents, Brelon Willard and Gladys Norine Lawson Hicks; and his siblings, Kathryn Parham, Doris Tidwell, Braxton Hicks, Kenneth Hicks and Buddy Hicks.
He is survived by: his wife Claudine Hilley Hicks; his children, Madonna Lynn Gant and Loyd Morris Gant (Tonya); his grandchildren, Joshua Arnold (Jordan) and Hunter Gant; his great grandchildren, Jon, Maverick and Easton (Anita Anderson); his brother Dennis Hicks (Faye); and his nieces and nephews, Dewayne "Jabo" Brazelton, Stan Tidwell (Angie) and Jan Mason (David).
