He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Mahaffey and Patsy Moore; his stepfather Charles Moore; his siblings, Barbara Miller, Ronald and Donald Mahaffey; and his grandson Colby Sims.
He is survived by: his wife Regina Mahaffey; his children, Johnna Gowen (Tommy), Jeff Mahaffey (Charity), Jarrod Mahaffey and Jena Mahaffey; his grandchildren, Blakely Sims, Garrett Mahaffey, Shelbi Gowen, Evan Rutledge and Roman Harris; his sisters, Betty Wadsworth (Larry) and Martha Hogan (Terry); and his brother-in-law Jerry Miller.
