He was predeceased by: his parents, Dayton Fortenberry and Ila Fortenberry; and his brother Ken Fortenberry. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Foote Fortenberry; his sons, Daniel M. Fortenberry, Jr. (Lisa) and Donald W. Fortenberry (Tina); his grandchildren, Jason Fortenberry (Dana), Caitlyn Reagan (Matthew), Jessica Fortenberry and Jacob Fortenberry; and his great grandchild Elliania Sutton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
