He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Brice and Corine Holmes Waid; and his sister Dorothy Pettis. He is survived by: his children, Stephen Waid (Jessica) and Susan McGettigan (Dan); his grandchildren, Tyler Waid, Zachary Waid and Catherine Grace McGettigan; and his brother Bobby Waid (Gwen).
