He was predeceased by: his mother Lamar Dicks, Sr.; and his siblings, Hazel D. Knighten and Clyde Dicks. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Dicks; his daughters, Hannah Hamilton (Jerry), Christie Schwab (Brian) and Michelle Wade (James); his grandchildren, Victoria Waldrop (Josh), Dawn Allen (Jordan), Austin Rossi, Brittni Cox (Chris), Loren Fomby (Brandon) and Blake Schwab; his great grandchildren, Cole Courtney, Maddux Waldrop, Braxton Allen, Hudson Allen and Cohen Cox; and his siblings, Franklin Dicks, Richard Dicks (Jimmie), Jack Dicks (Jimmie Ray), Betty Andrews, Alice McNeill (Don) and Vickey Durden.

In addition to flowers, charitable contributions may be made in his honor to the Pine Level Cemetery Fund (PO Box 5 Pine Level, AL 36065).
