He was predeceased by: his daughter Jennifer Nicole Mize; and his parents, Earl Mize and Hellen Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Lisa; his daughters, Amanda Fortenberry (Steven) and Tiffany Mize; his sister Evangeline Spears; his half-siblings, Bruce Clements and Darla Mize Stubblefield; his grandchildren, Kaylee Nicole Smick, Dakota Lee Atkinson, Jordan Dawn Smick, Charles Dalton Smick, Mackenzie Rain Smick and Sy'Lara Brandy Warren; and his great grandchild Jackston Kai Atkinson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the New Covenant Church of God (2511 Old Birmingham Hwy, Anniston, AL 36201).
