He is survived by: his wife Mary Ruth Carter Burns of Piedmont; his children, Michael Lee Burns and Phyllis Burns Cumbee (Dale); his grandchildren, Melissa Burns King (Tim), Jennifer Burns Moore (Chris), Charles Robert Cumbee and Heather Cumbee Hurn (Michael); and his great grandchildren, Stephanie Nicole King, Kellan Ridley Moore and Courtney Brianne King.
