He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Fortenberry and Ruth Fortenberry; and his siblings, Betty Fortenberry, Annie Mae Ford, Irene Chandler, Dorothy "Dot" Pruitt, Hubert, Ed and Eugene Fortenberry.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Fortenberry of Piedmont; his daughter Lisa Smith (Gene) of Centre; his granddaughter Kayleigh Livingston (Forrest) of Piedmont; his great grandchild Magnolia Livingston of Piedmont; and his sisters, Shirley and Hazel. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home & Crematory (6340 Old Piedmont Gadsden Hwy, Piedmont, AL 36272). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
