He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Huey and Jack Huey; and his brothers, David Huey and Johnny Ray Weaver. He is survived by: his wife Mary Huey of Piedmont; his son Thomas Huey (Deandra) of Piedmont; his granddaughter Tara Simone Kellar; and his siblings, Thelma Atkins, J. D. Huey and Jerry Huey (Maddie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
