He was predeceased by: his wife Sue Cook Douthit; his parents, Floyd Douthit and Myrtle Douthit; his brothers, Buster Douthit (Nell) and George Douthit (Evelyn); and his siblings-in-law, Gail Frady (David), Luvenia Conaway (Carey) and Tim Cook.
He is survived by: his children, Brandon Cook (Sumer) of Piedmont and Angela Payne of Piedmont; his grandchildren, Anna Grace Cook, Landon Cook, Kyson Payne, Asher Payne, Ryder Payne and Remeigh Quinn Payne; his brothers, Jim Douthit (Judy) of Jacksonville and Bob Douthit (Ellen) of Huntsville; his sisters-in-law, Sandra Lester (Wayne) and Arlene Cook Anderson (Charlie); his nieces and nephews, Pam D. Deerman (Steve), Christa Heard, Ashley Barnett (Justin), Megan Barnett, Butch Douthit (Kathy), Terry Douthit (Dawne), Robert Douthit, Bobby Douthit (Jennifer), Trent Conaway (Mychal) and Cranston Barnett; and his friend Paul Logan. He is also survived by great-great nieces and nephews and cousins.
