He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Smith and Winona Smith. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Smith; his daughters, Deana Cobb (Ricky), Tori Smith (Chris Isbell) and April Mickens (Payton); his grandchildren, Trey Littlefield (Kim), Katie Parris (Waylon), Garett Cobb (Kylie-Grace), Ambria Smith, Jayce Mickens, Taylor Gault (Alex) and Elliott Gault (Girl Taylor); his great grandchildren, Ayden, Nolan Littlefield, John Taylor, Brayselynn, Khason and Callahan Gault; and his brothers, Mack Smith and Joe Allen Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home & Crematory (6340 Old Piedmont Gadsden Hwy, Piedmont, AL 36272). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery (2220 Philadelphia Church Rd, Piedmont, AL 36272).
