He was predeceased by: his parents, Murney "Bud" McGatha and Lizzy Alvertia Doss McGatha; and his brothers, Wayne, Daniel, Billy, Matthew, Harley and Bobby Joe.
He is survived by: his wife Dellie Gail McGatha; his children, Sharon Annette Megnin (Tony), James Franklin McGatha (Sissy) and Jacob Dewayne McGatha (Anniston); his siblings, Marvin McGatha (Cathy), Andrew McGatha (Becky), Guy McGatha (Patty), Tony McGatha (Joan), Joel McGatha (Marie), Richard McGatha (Dana), Shirley Buttram (Larry) and Lovella Morris (Ronnie); his grandchildren, Shanna Rena Dollar, Keith McGatha, Dusty McGatha and Abbi Gail King; and his great grandchildren, Anna Grace Cook, Landon Cook, Laveah Dupree, Jeremiah McGatha, Katie Harington, Charlotte McGatha, Jermarcus McGatha and Ryder Dean Wayne King. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
