It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Starland Newell of Phil Campbell, Alabama, who passed away on September 9, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Newell and Nettie Baker Newell; his siblings, Arles Newell, Jimmy Newell, Wayne Newell, Hulon Newell and Inez Duboise; and his great great grandchild Jayden Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Elsie Newell; his daughter Sue Smith (Bobby); and his siblings, Martha Tuck (Mike), Floyd Newell, Byron Newell, Clinton Newell (Judy) and Pete Newell (Marggie). He is also survived by three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
