He is survived by: his wife Cindy Ussery Shivers; his grandmother Marguerite Dyar; his children, Michael "Bubba" Wayne Shivers, Rachel Watson and Christopher Jones; and his siblings, Cyndee Patterson (Doug), Cheryl Cansler (Rob), Gina Cain (Toshiro) and Damon Shivers (Peggy). He is also survived by his four grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
