It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Ann Lawson of Phenix City, Alabama, born in Magnolia, Kentucky, who passed away on March 24, 2023, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Gilbert Benningfield and Ruby Ragland Benningfield; and her husband Kenneth Wayne Lawson. She is survived by: her sons, Christian Lawson (Shannon) of Phenix City, AL and Michael Lawson (Shawn) of Hughesville, Maryland; her brother Jimmy Benningfield (Pat) of Elizabethtown; her grandsons, Stephen Lawson of Fredericksburg, VA and Mason Lawson of Phenix City, AL; and her great grandchild Tristian Lawson.
