She was predeceased by: her parents, Jess Norris and Annie Selena Norris; her husband Oscar C. Dempsey; her children, Delores Battles, Oscar O. Dempsey and Clifford L. Dempsey; her siblings, Eloise Holmes, Joan Marie, Robert T. Jarrett, David F. Norris and Jake Jarrett; and her grandson David Posey Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Deborah D. Linn (Dennis), Linda M. Posey, Judy D. Franklin (John) and Bobby G. Dempsey, Sr. (Bonita); and her grandchildren, Adam Johnson (Nikki), Howard Johnson (Doreen), Angel Battles, Angie Stone (Jeff), Kathryn Bryant (John), Ashlyn Hudson (Brandon), John Bessant (Allison), Brooke Sheppard, David Dempsey (Robin), Joy Meredith (Michael), Susie Irving (Dave), Tina Drummond, Cliff Dempsey Jr. (Cherie), Bianca Neaves (Brent), Belinda Cooper (Ron), Bridgette Herring (Randy) and Bobby Dempsey Jr. (Kasey). She is also survived by 53 great grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Vance Brooks Funeral Home - Phenix City (3738 US-431, Phenix City, AL 36867). A graveside service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lakeview Memory Gardens (4310 N AL-1, Phenix City, AL 36867).
