She was predeceased by: her parents, Burly Spence and Mattie Bell McIntosh Spence; and her siblings, Nell Snipes, Mary Boutwell and James.

She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Trainham (Larkin) of Phenix City, AL, Cynthia Fuqua (Mike Forbes) of Phenix City, AL and Ronald W. "Willie" Strand II of Phenix City, AL; and her grandchildren, Gabby Gallatin, Jessica Fuqua and Maddy Nicholson (Carsen). She is also survived by great-grandchild on the way; several nieces, nephews and friends.
