She was predeceased by: her parents, George Day and Mary Bell Kelly Day; her children, Sherman Mathes, Lorenzo Mathes, Cynthia Mathes Davis and Carolyn Mathes Graham; her great grandchild Dmiya Mathes; and her sisters, Mary Day Howard, Bertha Day Parker, Rebecca Day Jones, Lillie Day Williams and Carrie Day Whittlesey.
She is survived by: her sons, Joe C. Mathes, Jr. (Pamela) and Anthony Mathes; and her sisters, Rosie Day Bailey, Jessie Day Lawrence and Georgia Day Alexander. She is also survived by one daughter, Alicia Mathes Lake; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
