It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mamie McAfee Merrit of Phenix City, Alabama, who passed away on March 27, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father John Ashley McAfee; her brothers, Charles Barnes and Wesley Barnes; her grandson Kenny Wayne Yelton Jr.; and her great grandchild Cayden Swanson.
She is survived by: her sisters, Barbara Southerland and Juanita Thompson; her sisters-in-law, Emma Barnes and Barbara Barnes; and her children, Danette Johnson, Danny Jeter Jr. (Nari), Robert Jeter, Carrie Thomas (Art) and Michael Jeter.
