He was predeceased by: his parents, Julio C. Otero and Emilia Rodriguez Otero; his siblings, Marco Antonio Otero and Cibeles Verona; and his son Dr. Jay M. Otero.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Saffold Otero of Phenix City, AL; his son Darren Otero (Lynn) of North Hollywood, CA; and his granddaughters, Julianna Otero of North Hollywood, CA and Isabella Otero of North Hollywood, CA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
