It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Henderson of Phenix City, Alabama, born in Columbus, Georgia, who passed away on October 28, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James F. Carpenter and Margie Cain Smith; her former husband Enoch Mathews; her son Mark Mathews; and her sisters, Emily Davis and Kathy Coleman.
She is survived by: her children, Jan Ennis (Ricky) of Phenix City, AL, Carol Perdue (Matt) of Phenix City, AL, James Mathews (Kim) of Montgomery, AL and Brother Jimmy Carpenter (Lynda) of Stockbridge, GA; her grandchildren, Katie Hayward (Ryan), Mathew Tooker, Caroline Campbell (Tripp), Mitch Mathews, Elizabeth Perdue (Tyler Hodgdon), Anna Perdue and Tyler Mathew; and her great grandchildren, Ella Mitchell and Luke Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions be made to the American Red Cross in Memory of Mrs. Henderson.
