With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Wesley Hurt of Phenix City, Alabama, who passed away on June 2, 2023 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Frederick Hurt and Annie Mae Floyd Hurt. He is survived by: his wife Laura P. Hurt; his sister W. Sandra Crowell (Raymond); and his siblings-in-law, Betty Hurt, Willettte Jones, Bernice Rushin, Evelyn Jackson, Sheila Perry, Frances Bowden, Flora Topps (Floyd), Willie C. Perry (Franica) and Rev. Michael Perry. He is also survived by eight nieces, six nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
