He was predeceased by: his mother Lucille Barnette; his grandson Justin Smith; his parents-in-law, James and Daisy Futch; his sister-in-law Pat Futch; and his nephew Trey Chambers.

He is survived by: his father Lewis Barnette; his wife Helen Barnette; his children, Jimbo Barnette (Wendy) and Angie Presley (Charlie); his grandchildren, Jacob Smith (Ashley), Noah Barnette, Nevaeh Barnette, Lanham Berry, Jamie Berry and John Presley; and his great grandchildren, Adalyn Smith and Ben Smith.
