He was predeceased by: his parents, E. J. Wertenburger and Mattie Davis; and his wife Martha Ann Hatcher. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Robin Thompson (Chris) and Kevin Bruce; his nephews, Jonathan Warrick and Thomas McCormick; and his siblings, Ann, Patricia and Jay. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
