He is survived by: his father Fred Ricks (Elizabeth); his wife Shonya Anita Ricks; his mother Gladys Ricks Joyner; his children, Jermaine Cornelius Ricks (Shaquera), Desmond Mays Smith (Asante), Diondrea Ricks, Destiny Ricks and Abrielle Walker; his sisters, Loretta Ricks-Toombs (Allen) and Kizzy Ricks; and his friends, Roderick Johnson and Melvin "Dap" Thornton. He is also survived by uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins.
