He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Dykes Shelley; his sons, Jimmy Shelley and Bert Shelley (Tammy); his grandsons, Nicholas "Nick" Leach and Brooks Shelley (Lauren); and his brother Wade Shelley (Gayle). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
