He was predeceased by: his parents, Joy Franklin Grimes and Jessie Ophelia Robinson Grimes; his wife Barbara June Lawhon Grimes; and his siblings, Romona Russell, Karen Hartsfield, William H. Grimes and Walter Ray Grimes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Hope Black of Pinetta, FL and Faith Lee of Phenix City, AL; his brother J. Franklin Grimes (Margaret) of Cottondale, FL; his grandsons, Marcus David Lee of Phenix City, AL and Jason Black (Kay) of Irvine, CA; and his great grandchild Kayla Black. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and many caring friends.
